Denitration | SCR flue gas denitration technology of heating furnace: principle and process analysis

The heating furnace plays an important role in the process of industrial manufacturing enterprises, especially in steel, metallurgy, cement, glass and all kinds of heat treatment industries, which require high temperature heating in the production process, so it will produce a large amount of nitrogen oxides NOx, which needs to be controlled by denitrification technology.

Nitrogen oxides NOx is one of the main pollutants in the atmosphere, including nitric oxide NOx and sulfur dioxide SO₂. They have serious harm to human health, the environment and the atmospheric environment, the heating furnace in the combustion process will produce a large amount of NOx, therefore, the heating furnace nitrogen oxide treatment is an important measure to reduce environmental pollution and promote ecological balance.

The basic raw material of SCR denitration technology (selective catalytic reduction) is that under certain catalyst and temperature conditions, NOx and ammonia NH3 are catalyzed on the surface of the catalyst, and NOx is reduced to nitrogen N₂ and water H₂O. In this process, ammonia selectively reacts with NOx in the flue gas.

The chemical reaction equation is as follows:

4NO + 4NH₃ + O₂ → 4N₂ + 6H₂O

2NO₂ + 4NH₃ + O₂ → 3N₂ + 6H₂O

These reactions show that NOx reacts with NH₃ to form harmless N₂ and H₂O under the action of the catalyst, effectively reducing the emission of harmful gases.

The NOx removal efficiency of SCR denitrification technology can generally be maintained at 70%-90%, which is an efficient flue gas denitrification technology, and the secondary pollutants generated by the whole process are few. With the development of denitrification technology, selective catalytic reduction SCR technology provides an efficient and reliable nitrogen oxide emission reduction method. The technology can convert NOx into harmless nitrogen and water vapor, effectively controlling the emission of nitrogen oxides.

Due to its wide application in a number of industries, the treatment of nitrogen oxides is not only the requirements of environmental regulations, but also the necessary measures to achieve sustainable development, through the use of SCR denitrification, can effectively reduce NOx emissions, protect the environment and human health.
